Baby is Growing Big!

Can you believe how big she has gotten? I know I am her mom, so I'm supposed to say these things, but she is such a wonderful baby. She is incredibly happy and easy going. She is always laughing and smiling. My dad always says that she is just good natured. She takes after her daddy for sure because she is nothing like me. Oh, and can you see? She looks just like her daddy! I love this little baby so much. You just never know this love until you experience it. Each day is something more wonderful. Listening to her say words, watching her mimic the things I do, and seeing her soak up new things. It is just amazing.

Easter 2010

This was Sydney Anne's first Easter! She is now 10 months old and growing so big. She enjoyed seeing her Easter basket. She LOVED her chocolate bunny and threw a fit when I took it away from her. She will probably have a sweet tooth like her momma. Grandma and Grandpa Searcy sent her a package with a BIG Easter bunny and a duck that quacks. It's funny because Sydney Anne loves to "quack quack." Grandma and Granddaddy Martin gave her a gigantic pink and green caterpillar, so now she has lots of BIG stuffed animals! We spent the afternoon at Aunt Kathy and Uncle Kerry's. It was a beautiful sunshiny day. Sydney Anne was so exhausted that she slept most of the day, but she did wake up long enough for everyone to love on her. The last picture is my cousin Melanie's little boy Ben. He is such a sweet boy and has grown up so much. He is 4 years old and full of personality. He loved getting to hold Sydney Anne. They both go to the same daycare - different classes of course, but we get to see him every once in awhile. She looks gigantic next to him and honestly, probably doesn't weigh much less than him. Sydney Anne is actually a tall baby, however, the fat rolls don't give all the evidence of this :)

It is fun to think about the Easter bunny on Easter, but I told Sydney Anne the real meaning of Easter. I know she is too young to understand, but I don't want her to think Easter is all about bunnies and eggs. It is about the fact that Jesus Christ died and on the 3rd day rose from the dead. He took on all of our sins so that we can have life and not have the burden of our sins. I am so thankful for Christ and what HE has done for us. He is full of grace and mercy!!

A Beautiful Day with Zoie and Mollie!

We had a busy day this past weekend. It began with a trip to Grandma Martin's house. Grandma and Granddaddy kept Sydney Anne so I could go see my friend Bonnie's little girl Hadley in the hospital. She was in the hospital for 5 days for ear infections and we are so glad she is home. I took lunch to Bonnie and it was time for Hadley's nap, so I didn't stay long. I headed back over to mom's and we had the best afternoon. It was sunny and the temperature was in the mid 70's. You can't beat that! We spent most of the afternoon outside. Hayley, Danny and the girls came to hang out, too. We went on a long walk in the neighborhood and enjoyed looking at all the blooming plants and trees. Zoie and Mollie took turns pushing Sydney Anne in the stroller. I haven't seen Sydney Anne that alive in a LONG time! It's like the weather has brought the much needed health to her bones! That night, we had a pizza party and Robert and Jennifer brought Preston over! Oh, and don't forget about Andrew and his girlfriend Rachel. I love having a BIG family!!

Sydney says "Quack Quack"

Sydney Anne repeated Quack Quack after I said it about a Sandra Boynton book we were reading. It is just funny the stuff she does sometimes. This is a long video, so just watch to first minute. She is so much fun!! Please forgive me when you hear me. I am a dork!

Zoie's Build a Bear Party

Posted by Picasa

Last weekend was my niece Zoie's 6th birthday party! I can hardly believe that little girl is 6 years old! She was born on March 11, 2004, which was exactly 2 days before I met Mat Searcy for the first time. It was quite a memorable week. I can always count how long Mat and I have been together. Sydney Anne had so much fun at the party. She loves to watch the other children and SOON, she will be able to walk around and play with them! Sydney Anne built a bunny which Melanie correctly named "Petals". I guess when you have kids you have to have lots of creative names for stuffed animals. I am so not good at that stuff!

In the pictures are me and Sydney Anne (of course) and below is my brother Robert and his son, Robert Preston! Also, my mom and dad with Sydney Anne and Preston and then Ben and Mollie at the party. Where is the birthday girl? Well, I didn't get a good picture. That little girl was everywhere! I can't tell you how much I love my nieces Zoie and Mollie, my nephew Preston and my baby cousin Ben!
