Easter 2010

This was Sydney Anne's first Easter! She is now 10 months old and growing so big. She enjoyed seeing her Easter basket. She LOVED her chocolate bunny and threw a fit when I took it away from her. She will probably have a sweet tooth like her momma. Grandma and Grandpa Searcy sent her a package with a BIG Easter bunny and a duck that quacks. It's funny because Sydney Anne loves to "quack quack." Grandma and Granddaddy Martin gave her a gigantic pink and green caterpillar, so now she has lots of BIG stuffed animals! We spent the afternoon at Aunt Kathy and Uncle Kerry's. It was a beautiful sunshiny day. Sydney Anne was so exhausted that she slept most of the day, but she did wake up long enough for everyone to love on her. The last picture is my cousin Melanie's little boy Ben. He is such a sweet boy and has grown up so much. He is 4 years old and full of personality. He loved getting to hold Sydney Anne. They both go to the same daycare - different classes of course, but we get to see him every once in awhile. She looks gigantic next to him and honestly, probably doesn't weigh much less than him. Sydney Anne is actually a tall baby, however, the fat rolls don't give all the evidence of this :)

It is fun to think about the Easter bunny on Easter, but I told Sydney Anne the real meaning of Easter. I know she is too young to understand, but I don't want her to think Easter is all about bunnies and eggs. It is about the fact that Jesus Christ died and on the 3rd day rose from the dead. He took on all of our sins so that we can have life and not have the burden of our sins. I am so thankful for Christ and what HE has done for us. He is full of grace and mercy!!
